There are times when you don’t want the Social Bar turned on. For example, if you are creating an intranet and see no need to know how well the employees like the page, then you can turn it off and remove some clutter from the page. You can do this by performing the following steps.
- Connect to SharePoint online via SharePoint Online Management Shell
- If you want to turn it off at the tenant level (for all site collections) run the following PowerShell command.
Set-SPOTenant -SocialBarOnSitePagesDisabled $true
- If you just want to turn it off for a particular site collection you can run this PowerShell command.
Set-SPOSite -Identity <site collection URL> -SocialBarOnSitePagesDisabled $true
